Spring Break begins this weekend! If you’re looking for things to do with the family during the week, why not make the Florida Air Museum one of your stops! Here are a few features of the Florida Air Museum the family would enjoy:
Fly the Redbird MX-2 Full Motion Flight Simulator
The MX-2 models the P-51 Mustang “Crazy Horse” as an homage to our friends and partners at Stallion 51. Activate the motions of pitch, roll, and yaw in an enclosed cockpit with responsive controlling inputs to help represent and recognize what it feels like in the P-51 Mustang!
Take flight in the simulator with guidance from a Museum Docent! A 15 minute experience is $10 in addition to your Florida Air Museum admission.
Experience the Buehler Restoration Center
Curious about how aircraft are repaired, restored, and maintained? The Buehler Restoration Center gives you an inside look at how the aircraft restoration process happens. Take time to walk through our engine display and see how an aircraft engine works in real time! A perfect area for any current (or future) aircraft mechanics!
Behold Outdoor Aircraft Displays including the F-14 Tomcat
Stroll through the beautiful SUN ‘n FUN Expo Campus while taking in outdoor aircraft displays. Don’t forget to stop by Hangar A to stand close to the newly repainted, classic F-14 Tomcat! These aircraft serve as more than just displays; they tell the stories of aviators past and present.
Explore the Jerry Holland Destination: Aviation Playground
Sheltair Aviation and the Aerospace Center for Excellence are ecstatic to present the brand-new Jerry Holland Destination: Aviation Playground!
This playground is the paved way toward making future aviation dreams come true! It is equipped with shaded swings, spring riders, and an atom spinner. The STEM activities incorporated into the main play structure allow kids to learn the parts of an airplane, see firsthand how an engine works, explore the concepts of roll, pitch, and yaw, and so much more!
Check out the Discovery Zone
Have a blast in The Discovery Zone located inside the Florida Air Museum! Play with interactive science games and aviation toys, and dress up like an astronaut! Kids will relish this fun area to learn and play.
All of these activities are included with the purchase of your museum admission, except the Redbird M-2 Full Motion Simulator Experience, which is $10 for 15 minutes. Museum hours are as follows:
